PostSubject: Halo PC & Halo 2 Vista   Sat Aug 11, 2007 4:19 am

THIS is the place dedicated to discussing the two halo computer releases: Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 for Windows Vista.

To me, personally, i think the computer versions have some advantages over the console releases. I find mouse/keyboard controls perfect for FPS, while consoles seem more suited towards RPGS, sports, and other kinds of games. While the XBOX releases of these two games certainly aren't bad, the PC versions contain some things which may sway you in their direction.

Besides the feel of the control, a main draw of the PC versions is the Custom Edition.

In short, the Custom Edition (CE) is what allows users to create fun maps, weapons, and vehicles (sometimes with AI involved!). It also allowz users to download and play any of these maps.

Some examples of this include a halo map of rainbow road, in which you can drive all the way around it (which takes like 10 minutes lol) kokiri forest, and a version of Blood Gulch in which you play as Shadow the Hedgehog. "Cheats" may be used in the Custom Edition, But only in what is known as "Developer mode", or DEV for short. Dev mode is usually used in creating and more often testing levels for glitches. Some "cheats" yo ucan apply here include super jump, spawn any weapons, and not dieing. Please be aware NO cheats are possible in the actual game.

Please feel free to discuss Halo computer editions!

thanks.

well,if someone creates it, yes. Usually, a group of people make the map itself and other people make weapons that work on the map and vehicles and any AI, and then they upload it to the internet for people to use it. It's tough, but any level would work (but i think halo works on a closed world map, so you would have to have walls, even if they are invisible.

Usually, people just use rocks you can't get to (but in developer mode you can use super jump to get past them, its pretty awesome Wink but you can use invisible walls in levels such as rainbow road so it LOOKs open but its not really. alot of games are like that, where you try to go farther but theres a invisible wall u know?

kinda. like if a person forgets to link something you could probably walk throuhg a wall or fall throuhg a floor or if you have super jump you can jump to where people didnt put anythinkg lol, and a cool thing is alot of people put little easter eggs in their levels just 4 fun, even Bungie (the actual designer of halo) put a easteregg is halo 2, in a level called zanzibar, if you zoom in on a little computer it says a funny message. i forgot exactly what, but its somethinkg in the end is like "well if you dont wanna get blown up or die or somting, dont stand here reading this stupid easter egg!"
